5 Self Help Books On My Reading List

5 Self Help Books On My Reading List

I think reading has to be one of my favorite relaxation activities. Not only am I able to lose myself in a good book and take my mind off of the stress of the day, but I can also use it as an opportunity to learn new things and improve my everyday life. By reading certain books, I feel motivated to make positive changes in my life and achieve goals that I set for myself. I will be doing a lot of traveling over the next month, which means countless hours spent in airports and on planes, so I have compiled a list for myself of books that I would like to read. I wanted to share this list with you, as I think these books can help a wide range of people looking to improve their lives and achieve new goals. If you need some inspiration for your next book, check out this list and get reading!

  1. Polish Your Poise with Madame Chic: Lessons in Everyday Elegance - Learn the secrets of living a graceful and poised life, passed down from a Parisian mentor to author Jennifer Scott. Not only will you be learning how to improve your outer appearance in style and posture, but you will also find out how to gain an inner confidence that will exude from within. I am looking forward to some inspiration for an overall lifestyle improvement.
  2. Who Moved My Cheese - My fiancé read this book about a year ago, and said it worked wonders for him. Who Moved My Cheese is a great book for anyone who wants to learn how to deal with change in everyday life, a skill that I definitely need to acquire! This book focuses on a mind set change, and how attitude can determine how you will handle a situation. The best part is that this book is a very quick and easy read, using a fun story line to get its message across.

  3. #GIRLBOSS - Looking for a motivational boost? Have some big goals you are trying to achieve? #GIRLBOSS follows the story of Sophia Amoruso, founder and CEO of the multi-million dollar fashion company Nasty Gal. Find out how she went from a down on her luck teen, dumpster diving for food, to a powerful business woman, running a hugely successful retail company. If you're looking for some motivation to achieve your career goals or just goals in life, give this book a try!

  4. The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People: Powerful Lessons in Personal Change - It's no coincidence that this book has been flying off the selves for the past 25 years, this step-by-step book will help anyone to deal with the challenges of everyday life, from work to personal matters. Author Stephen Covey shows how to work on a personal development plan, and how to live a well-rounded, and fulfilled life.

  5. At Home with Madame Chic: Being a Connoisseur of Daily Life - Another read from author Jennifer Scott, this book covers the art of the every day life. Learn even more secrets of the Parisian lifestyle, covering topics of the home, and how to live elegantly and happily. This book points out how to take every day chores and make them less mundane and routine. Discover how to take the extra steps you need to make your life more enjoyable. I really can't wait to read this one!

I am hoping to get through all of these books over the next month or two, and will share my personal thoughts on them when I am done. What books are you reading right now? Share with us in the comments!
