Summer is almost over, but here in California, we still have at least another month of heat and beautiful weather, perfect for a day at the beach. There are a few things I always make sure to throw in my beach bag before heading out to make sure that I am protected from the sun and comfortable. Check out my essential beach items below!
I like wearing slide sandals at the beach because they are super easy to get on and off, plus they are really on trend right now. I am currently loving my A+Alba Slide Sandals in white from Target. They are really affordable and look a lot more expensive than they actually are. Check out other cute styles below!
Of course I want to protect my skin when I know I'll be out in the sun all day, so sunscreen is a big essential for me at the beach. I don't want to have to worry about sun damage and wrinkles while I'm laying out on the sand. Recently I have been using the Secret in-a-Tube Organic Anti-Aging Protection Moisturizer Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 32, especially for my face. I like it because I can wear it under my makeup and it doesn't make my skin look shiny or make my foundation slide. Another big plus, this sunscreen has a very mild scent, not like your typical formula that can be a bit offensive. It's safe to say that a day at the beach would be pretty uncomfortable without a good pair of sunglasses. I never leave home without my favorite pair of aviators from Ray-Ban. There are so many cute sun glass styles out this summer. Check out my favorite picks below.
Laying out at the beach all day can be really dehydrating for the skin, so I like to add the moisture back with a good beach oil. Recently I've been trying out the Natural Antioxidant Face and Body Oil by Rebecca's Paradise, which is rich in antioxidants and organic oils to help nourish my skin and protect it against the damage of the sun. I love the passion fruit scent and also how lightweight the formula is, so it doesn't leave me feeling greasy or sticky in the hot sun. Another great thing about it is the light sheen that it gives my skin, which makes me appear more sculpted in my bathing suit and leaves my skin glowing.
I think it's pretty self-explanatory, a bathing suit is a must for a day at the beach. I like buying bathing suits in neutral colors, that way I can mix and match tops and bottoms, giving me a lot more options throughout the summer. Check out some of my favorite styles at the end of this post.
