February Book And Tea Combo
This month, I am putting a big focus on self-improvement, and one of the ways I am doing this is by reading some books on bettering myself. I recently read Polish Your Poise With Madame Chic: Lessons In Everyday Elegance by Jennifer L. Scott. I was really excited to read this book after seeing so many positive reviews, and even the title alone made me excited.
The main focus of this book is on how to apply the art of poise to everyday life, a quality that is not always found in our modern society. Some of the concepts in this book appear as common sense to some, but are surprisingly scarce when we look around. This book is all about easy ways we can implement elegance, poise, and basic etiquette into our lives.
I was very inspired by reading this, and found it to be a very helpful reminder that all of our actions effect those around us, and our behavior reflects who we are as a person to the world. By improving our day-to-day behavior and appearance, we can have an impact, however small it may be, on those around us.
Some of the points made in this book are concepts I am already aware of, but it was a very nice reminder, and confirmation that it is worth it to make the effort to act with poise. I highly recommend this book to anyone looking to make an overall improvement in their life.
In honor of my trip to India this month, I picked Chai Tea as the perfect accompaniment to this book. I drank this tea almost every morning while I was in India, and I didn't even miss my morning coffee! If you aren't familiar, Chai Tea, or Masala Chai is a black tea, mixed with many Indian spices, herbs, milk and sugar. It has a very strong flavor, which is both unique and interesting. If you've only ever tried Starbucks's Chai Tea Latte, or a bagged tea version of Masala Tea you are missing out, because the traditional style tea is so rich and delicious.
I hope you enjoyed this month's book and tea combo and are able to try them out yourself! Do you have a book suggestion for me? Share in the comments below!
