Mattify Your Makeup
I tend to work very long hours each day, so it is really important for me to have makeup that can last me throughout the day. Of course, it is important to use the right primer, foundation, and setting powder, but sometimes you need a little bit of extra help to stay looking fresh all day. I have been on the lookout recently for a product that can help me stay oil-free, without overly drying my skin, and leaving my makeup cracked and separating.
A great setting spray can make all the difference for long lasting makeup. For anyone who has oily or combination skin, you know the struggle of trying to keep your makeup looking fresh throughout the day. A great oil-controlling, mattifying spray can help to keep your makeup from becoming shiny, and also keep it from sliding around throughout the day. I recently purchased NYX's Matte Finish Setting Spray to test it out, and see if it could keep my makeup looking amazing, even after a long day.
After applying my full face of makeup, I spray my face with about 5-8 pumps of the spray, making sure to cover my entire face. I try to avoid the eye area as much as possible, that way I don't risk running my mascara, or having anything bleed down onto my face. Once the spray has dried, it leaves my makeup looking matte, without looking dry.
It was amazing to see that at the end of the first day, not only was my makeup still matte, but if I tried blotting it with tissue, there was very minimal transfer. One of my biggest issues is that my makeup tends to get so slick, that even the lightest touch can rub a whole section of foundation off, but after using this setting spray, the makeup seems to be locked onto my skin until I decide to wash it off.
I have tired other, higher-end brands of oil-controlling setting sprays, but I wasn't really impressed with the results, and so far, this has been the only product that I've used that has really done it's job in keeping me matte throughout the entire day.
