My Ideal Friday Night

It's Friday, and people everywhere are making plans to go out on the town and have a great time. As much as I love going out and having fun, there's nothing more enjoyable to me than spending a Friday night at home, relaxing, and rejuvenating from a busy week. By the time Friday night hits, I'm usually pretty exhausted from a long work week, and all I want to do is lay in bed and watch a movie. Call me boring, but as I get older, going out at night gets less and less exciting as each year goes by. Don't get me wrong, I love to go out and have fun from time to time, but usually my urge to crawl into bed overpowers any thought of going out. Keep on reading to find out my favorite way to spend a Friday night, and maybe you can get a little inspiration to stay at home tonight too!

Washing Off My Makeup

The first thing I like to do to kick off my Friday night is to wash off all of my makeup from the day, and make sure my skin is fresh and clean so I can relax. If I'm not feeling too lazy, I'll do some extra skincare steps, like a face mask or an exfoliating scrub. After pampering my skin a bit, I'll slip into some cute lounge clothes to enjoy the rest of my night.

Cook An Easy Dinner

On Friday night, I'm usually not in the mood to make anything fancy or complicated for dinner, so I'll make something easy like baked french fries or steamed rice with veggies. I don't want to spend the entire night in the kitchen, and these dishes are super healthy and filling as well. Even on my lazy nights, I still make sure to cook something nutritious and loaded with carbs for dinner. I rarely make prepackaged meals, and I try to cook everything from scratch whenever possible, that way I know exactly what I am putting into my body. 

Relaxing Time

After dinner is cleaned up, it's time to start the relaxing. This usually starts out by reading a magazine, or heading over to Bloglovin' to read articles from my favorite blogs. I'm usually multitasking at this point, so I'll be checking my social media while trying to read. After an hour or so of this, I might feel hungry again (yes I know, so soon after dinner), and I'll decide whether or not I should make a snack. If I do have a snack, I'll make that, and then head back to bed for movie time with my sister! We have a really hard time picking out what to watch, so we'll usually spend at least 30 minutes browsing through Netflix, deciding on something. When we finally decide on a movie, if it hasn't taken us hours to pick, we'll watch the whole thing. 

Bed Time

I'm usually dozing off before the movie is even over, but if it's good enough, I'll make it to the ending. If I'm not too tired, I might check my phone one last time before bed and reply back to comments on my social media accounts. This is probably not the best habit to have before bed, but it's one of my guilty pleasures, and I have a hard time giving it up! While laying in bed with my eyes shut, I'll usually go over my day in my head and think about everything that I did, and everything that I didn't do. I'll also make a mental note of anything I need to do the next day so I am prepared when I wake up to be productive. I also like to think about all of the blessings that I've had during the day, and remind myself to be thankful for everything I have in my life. This process helps me to clear my head, which makes it a lot easier for me to fall asleep.
