Product Review: MAC Studio Fix Powder Plus Foundation
Many people like to hate on MAC's skin products, as they are usually much heavier than the average brand, but I have found many of their face products to be very high quality with great coverage. One of my all time favorite MAC products is the Studio Fix Powder. It is so highly pigmented that with only a thin application, it gives me a flawless, airbrushed look.
The coverage is buildable, so for those of you who like to go for a more natural, sheer look, a few swipes of this powder will give you a great look. It can also be worn in layers for a full-coverage, ultra glam look. I love the texture of it, which is velvety and smooth, and never leaves me looking powdery. When I use this powder, I don't even need to use a setting spray to make it last all day.
This powder can also work well on its own, without a liquid foundation underneath. On days when I am short on time, or simply just want a lighter makeup look, I like to sweep on a few layers of this powder, which gives me just enough coverage without looking overdone with light eye and lip colors.
Another great thing about MAC's face product lines is that they come in so many different shades and undertones, ranging from cool to warm, and everywhere in between. If you are unfamiliar with how MAC's color system works, their colors are coded based on their undertones. Anything starting with NC is a 'neutral cool', meaning it has slight yellow undertones. Anything starting with NW is a 'neutral warm', meaning it has slight pink undertones. Products starting with a C have stronger yellow undertones, and W have a stronger pink undertone. With such a range of selection, this line of powder can match almost anyone's skin tone perfectly.
If you are in the market for a great buildable foundation powder, I would highly recommend giving MAC's Studio Fix a try.
