Witch Hazel - Rosewater Toner
Toners are an important step in any skincare routine in order to keep pores tight, remove dirt and makeup residue, and to moisturize skin. This witch hazel and rosewater blend is the perfect natural combo for a great toner. Witch hazel is a great natural astringent, with high levels of tannins which work to reduce pore size and oil production in the skin. Rosewater is a natural antibacterial and anti-inflammatory, which works to fight acne and rosacea prone skin, while also moisturizing any dryness that might be present.
I have included 3 different combinations for making this DIY toner which will perfectly suit every skin type. There are only two ingredients for each, witch hazel and rose water, and that's it!
Dry skin needs to focus on the moisture of the rose water for this toner mixture. Mix together 3/4 cup of rose water and 1/4 cup witch hazel in a bottle. The higher amount of rose water will help to keep the skin very moisturized while the small amount of witch hazel will still help to tighten pores and cleans the skin.
For oily skin, witch hazel is the key ingredient to controlling the shine. Mix together 3/4 cup witch hazel with 1/4 cup rose water in a bottle. The higher level of witch hazel will help to control oil production, clear black heads and blemishes, and tighten pores, while the rose water will help to balance out the skin and add a natural and light moisture to the skin.
For this skin type, equal parts of each ingredient will help to balance both dry spots will fighting the occasional breakout or t-zone oiliness. Mix together 1/2 cup witch hazel with 1/2 cup rose water in a bottle.
Another great way to use these recipes is to put the mixture into a spray bottle and use throughout the day for a quick refreshing spritz.
